Biographical / Historical

Selma Lagerlöf was born November 20, 1858 in Mårbacka, Jämtland province of Sweden. She was a teacher in Landskrona for 12 years, from 1885 to 1897. She won the Nobel Peace Prize in Literature in 1909, being the first female writer to win this. Selma died in Mårbacka in March 16, 1940.
