Abstract

Leif Erikson was a man who came to North America in the year 1000. Due to him North America was tried to be colonized for over 300 years. Efforts were made by the Leif Erikson League to make a statue, a Leif Erikson Day (October 9th) and a postage stamp in his honor, all of which were successfully completed.

This scrap book dates from 1897-1972. It is a collecting of correspondences dealing with topics about Leif Erikson Day, the Leif Erikson stamp, his histroy, and Leif Erikson Festival. There is also an ancestral chart of Leif Erikson included in the scrap book. Some of the letters and newsclippings could be similar to those from other files in this collection.
